Ok, ok, how about a dedicated module that allows m-mount lenses and is optimized for m-lenses as a low cost alternative to a digital leica m-mount camera. The key word is optimized which every other APS-C / m4/3 camera with an adapter is not. Not to mention the Ricoh is set-up like a photographer's camera. The Sony NEX is a consumer device. 😉

The press release mentions its designed to make the best of the M lenses plus a new shutter. Now the big question is whether that's just marketing speak or if the sensor is designed to work with the short lens registration distance, ie something similar to the M8?

"The lens mount unit is being designed to make the best use of the optical characteristics of the lenses mounted. It will have as its image sensor a 23.6 mm × 15.7 mm (APS-C size; total pixels: approx. 12.90 million) CMOS sensor, and it will also feature a newly developed focal plane shutter."
