Oregon Portland, OR Cameras and Coffee

A reminder that the Portland camera group will be meeting at the Crema coffee shop.

Our next meeting is on Saturday, July 5th, at 12 Noon!

Location: Taborspace Crema Coffee + Bakery

5441 SE Belmont St. Portland, OR 97215

Drag along some gear you find interesting and some knowledge you would like to share and we can all load up on caffeine and "stuff"" shared. Looking forward to seeing you there.

I'll technically be in town, so I'm a maybe.
I'm trying to remember who I've met from a decade ago when I still lived in portland, but I'm drawing a blank.

We'll set a place for you. It would be nice if you could swing by and protect us from the French club which is intent on stealing cameras.

Just a reminder, I'll be up there tomorrow at noon and hope to see a group of other camera folks. I will need that protection from those filthy, filtching Frenchmen who covet camera gear. ;o) That French language club plots every time we are there to stage a wholesale robbery.

Leaving here shortly to make the trek into PDX. Not loaded with a lot of camera gear but am bringing two honeys. I hope to see some other folks. I understand that PDX will be in the 80's today, a far cry from Astoria temps, here around 50F right now.

Next meet of the hardy in PDX is 2 August:

Our next meeting is on Saturday, August 2nd, at 12 Noon!

Show up and meet the hard core camera geeks and coffee swillers. Bring some gear to go along with the BS, um, conversation. ;o)

Miles, the regular and linchpin plus Slumgullian made appearances today. This is Slumgullian through a Freewell mist filter/polarizer, not a good idea.

I agree the mist filter probably didn't help, but otherwise you've captured the elements of a nice photo. I like the lines giving an interesting perspective with depth, plus the side light on your subject is more interesting than typical flat or overhead lighting often found indoors.

Kinda hard to tell with the camera to his eye, but the light on his face is actually quite nice -- almost a Rembrandt lighting as can be seen by the shadow on his face camera right, nose shadow and little triangle of light on his cheek. Woulda been quite nice if you could have flagged the light on his shirt to bring it down in value a couple of stops to put emphasis on his face. I'm not trying to be critical, just the opposite, always thinking of how to emphasize the things that are good about a photo. His facial skin tones and lighting are quite nice. Good job, particularly for what seems to be a quick shot.

You are kind. It was another blind hog event.
