I used to go photograph at the agricultural exhibits at our local fair and livestock exhibit. Especially the young ladies who had cattle they had raised. You merely raised your camera and they whipped out their ribbons and automatically gave you the shot you wanted as show attire, posing, and presentation were part of the 4H curriculum. I was always impressed at their big smiles as they stood with the heifers, who they had raised from calves, were ready to be loaded into trailers heading to the slaughterhouse. They would just tell you that was what farming was all about.

Picture of my dad, taken with a Lubitel. People often bash this camera but I think it's decent. Thanks for being such a great community, I love this forum :) also I guess I need to sign up for flickr for better quality photos on posts...

Forest Rain thank you. Don't say you were upstaged though - your image is very good. I shot the photo with a digital camera, an Olympus OM D EM 5 and a Voigtlander 5mm f1.8, Heliar classic. (I see both film and digital images are being posted to this thread). This lens which is in Leica M mount, is excellent and suits portraits perfectly having just about the best focal length and a truly classic rendering (sharp in the centre but with a "rounded" rendering that works with portraits and nice bokeh in the OOF areas). The model, named Deepa - a family friend, has particularly lovely eyes (a very nice attribute if being photographed)
