Possible new negative inversion software for camera scanning

I'd be interested in that if it were a stand alone app. There are a number of good ones out there, but they require Adobe Lightroom, which I no longer have.

This looks promising, I think Negative Lab Pro is working on a standalone app, but who knows how long that will take, plus it's hard to beat free.

See how it handles the orange mask. It’s very tricky.
I used to do this all the time, with no specialized software tools ... Just Photoshop back when I used that, and later Lightroom without any add-ons. I haven't got any color neg scans around to play with and see if I could do it with Pixelmator or other current software. If anyone has a good color neg they wouldn't mind sending to me, I'll play with it. Thx

Unfortunately, I tried this out and it was utterly unusable. It took so long to fully launch that I thought it was hung (I have a very fast Mac, being a Mac software developer by day). Then, when I loaded a folder of images to invert, I could only select the first one, and the inversion produced entirely wrong results, as if one of the color channels were swapped or something.

The UI seemed clunky at best, but considering I couldn’t really actually test it with anything approaching a usable result, it might be better than it appears.

Hopefully the developer can improve it to the point where it’s usable, but it didn’t make a good first impression.

I have tried the Darktable/Negadoctor module and think it has potential. However, it’s just too many adjustments to do before I get a decent positive image. (Probably because I’m a no0b.) But for smth foc, really can’t complain.

I downloaded the Windows version and it's quite laggy. (AS the Author already noted)
Will try the Mac OS later and to see how it works.
