Possible to remove straps from S3 2000 case?

Hi all,

Just took delivery of a "like new" S3 2000 camera with the leather case.
I've put straps on the camera body and would like to use the half case but I can't see a way of removing the straps from the case without cutting them.

Anyone managed to do this without cutting the straps?

You can drill out the rivets but it will never be like original again as it is unlikely you'll be able to find the same again.

Using two pairs of thin nose pliers, just open up the U-shaped rings that link the strap to the flat eyelets riveted on the case, take the rings and the strap off, and you're done.
