My favorite strap is no strap. I always carry my camera in this position along with a pocket full of film and a spare battery.

edit: that goes along with my favorite camera bag being "none". I guess that is because I never made a photo with my camera hanging from a strap or in a bag but my photo-ops typically only last for around a second or so.

i wear my straps long so that the camera is in a similar position…my hand is always on the camera so i just have to raise my hand, camera to face and shoot.
and if i need a hand or the camera slips then the strap is there for my comfort/rescue.
