^I've got the ETR 40mm and a Mamiya 7 (with the 50mm,80 & 150 Lens) tomorrow I'll take a look and see if the 50 on the Mamiya is close to the 40 on the ETR, I'm sure the 65 on the GS will not have as wide a field of view as the 40 on the ETR. Peter

The 50mm f/4.5 PG on the GS-1 should be about the same as the 40mm on the ETRSi.

I just picked up a Zenzanon MC 40/4 (2nd version) for my ETRSi. This is from the first roll shot with the lens.

This place is called Smith Rock. It is one of Oregon's state parks. It's located in Central Oregon, about 3-4 hours drive from my home. It is one of the most popular rock climbing locations in Oregon.

This is a slide film photo that was probably underexposed by 2-3 stops. I could hardly see anything on the film. I scanned it in full manual ICM mode on my Epson V500. I was surprised it turned out as well as it did.

And near Home for me
And near Home for me
When I step out on my front porch and look left, I see Smith Rock(s) about 5 miles away. I live near Terrebonne, and about a ten minute drive the the park. Needless to say, I spend quite a bit of time there.
However, I think this is the time of the year when the rocks are closed to climbers for Prairie Falcon nesting seaon. I am jaded by the proximity of the park and don't pay as much attention to these seasonal closures as I should.
Various nesting seasons early in the year are Golden Eagle, Prairie Falcon and Bald Eagle.
Also RC planes are prohibited in the park any time of the year to protect against the noise offending raptors and other wildlife. You can rarely walk down the Crooked River in the bottom of the gorge without encountering a number of fishing Herons.
Worth a trip,,, particularly a ten minute trip.
Waiting for my 40mm lens for my ETRS, to shoot some 35mm Pano with the 135W back. I decided to stay with the ETRS and sell the back for the Bronica SQ. It's on eBay at the moment. Near mint with manual.... OK is this wrong? Hmmmm.

The Frugal Man's alternative to the 135 W 35mm back....
The Frugal Man's alternative to the 135 W 35mm back....
I have decided to stick with the ETRS film back for shooting 35mm Panoramas. I paid $200 for that back.
However, I find there is a way to shoot a 24X54 pano that one would get from the 135W back.
The advantage of the back is shooting less expensive 35mm film and getting 35mm film processing done at a lower cost than Medium format.
Well, I have a couple of brain storms on that (they may actually be siezurs).
Use Medium format film in the camera and create the 24x54mm frame, this way:
My ETRS has the frame lines on the focus screen for both the 135N and the 135W film backs. So use the frame lines to shoot the 35mm size frames on regular MF film, either 220 in a 220 back, or 120 in a 120 back.
I buy all my MF film on eBay so I am not paying much more than 35mm film anyway.
Now, I can tape to the frame lines so that the view in the viewfinder is the new 35mm frame pano. Next, I can take a dark slide that will fit the back and cut out the 24x54mm frame from the dark slide. I also have to nip off the tab that prevents the camera from firing with the dark slide in the camera...
Easy peasy and can now frame and shoot the camera resulting in the new desired 35mm Pano, but it's shot on medium format film.
Then there is the processing cost for the film.
Well, the three Walmarts in my area all have "SEND OUT" film processing, and their contract is with Fujifilm Labs. Film is shipped by Walmart at no cost to me, It goes to Fujifilm where it is professionally processed, with no hands on or intervention by Walmart. The film comes back processed in TEN business days, and has never cost me more than $10 for processing and returning the film rolled and uncut. I've expounded on this numberous times here on RFF.
This has worked for me for over a decade with professional processing and never a roll or shot lost. NO SCANNING is available on this program.
Now i can assure you that if you walk into Walmart and pursue this, you will get blank stares, You must run this past them and teach them how to do it.
If anyone has questions on this, you can look up my old posts about Mediurm Format film processing through Walmart, or you can PM me for more info.
If you are just one of those out and out Walmart haters, forget it.
If you want to get low priced and professional results... follow up. Keep an open mind. After all the processing IS FUJIFILM PROFESSIONAL LABS, if that is the hookup your local Walmart uses. Don't settle for any Walmart denials off the bat. I would almost guarantee, there is a Fujifilm Kiosk somewhere in the Walmart near you, even if you have to go in the back of the store and dig it out and haul it up to the camera department. It's a clearly marked FUJIFILM envelope and drop off kiosk. It is SEND OUT ONLY, I can even show you how your fill out the envelopes.
I know this post is about using a Bronica camera. I have high regard for Broniica. However, I also know that the processind of MF film is a potential deterrent.
Don't let that stop you. Get your Bronica dn enjoy it.
Just now waiting for my ETRS 40mm (equivalent 28MM) lens.

I guess I'm lucky. I still have a local lab that will process my C-41 film (135 and 120), developed only and long sleeved, for $3-$4 a roll.
I try to shoot lots of film to keep them busy

That's fairly incredible in todays climate for processing MF film.
If you don't mind, what city do you live in...? US?
Name of the processor. Might be worth the mail at that price, just processed, rolled or sleeved? We can all help keep them in biz.

My local Hunt's Photo in South Portland, ME will do C-41 in 120 and 35mm in-house. IIRC it's about $3 - $4 a roll as well. Not 100% on price as I usually shoot slide film for color. They are a chain and I believe all locations will do C-41 in house. They do send out for E-6 though.

I live about 3+ hours drive from you
I live near Ashland, Oregon. The lab I use is called Advanced Photo and Imaging. They only do C-41 in house, they mail out E-6 and B&W to a lab in Eugene.
