Every couples days, weeks or months there's a different picture that I can't seem to stop looking at. I'm sure others around here feel or are the same.

Post a picture that you can't stop looking at. Be conservative with it; don't post every picture you like, but something that really has your attention for days.
I would say (but I can't enforce this of course) that it would maybe be an idea to post a picture a week or every couple weeks.

Quality content only; to both inspire other people on here, as well as give an idea of what you like!

Don't forget to post who the photograph is taken by!

If you can explain (I know this is hard) what it is that intrigues you so much, feel free to write it down.

I took this photo recently on a trip to Hong Kong. There is something about the relaxed innocence of the young women in the picture that I love. Just pals doing their "thang"

This one intrigues me a bit - what is it they are looking at with such rapt attention - all except for the 2 girls in the middle who are "chimping" their iphone.

Call me paranoid but if someone looked at me with that expression, I'd walk away very, very quickly.
 
I'd like to point out that if the flickr user has sharing enabled, you are allowed to share their photo using the code provided by flickr. It is part of the service provided by flickr that every user who signs up to flickr agrees to when they accept the TOS. If they do not like this they're allowed to opt out by turning sharing off.

For better or for worse most of my favorites on flickr have sharing turned off.

This is one of those photos that probably looked "ugly" when it was new, but is special now. You can almost hear the thrum of the air-cooled VW, and feel the chill in the air, it is its candidness though that makes it more than a simple old-timey snapshot.

I like how the smoke in the midground serves perfectly to make the dark foreground "pop out" despite the also dark background. Lovely colors and setting too.

6) You will not upload, attach or post any material you are not the creator and/or copyright holder of. It is however acceptable to post links to publically accessible material.

The RFF rule doesn’t include something like “unless the copyright holder permits”. There’s also “fair use” under the law, but RFF policy is less permissive, and relatively easy to administer, though perhaps inconvenient at times. :eek:

If the moderation truly feels the membership is obviously too stupid to handle something so simple, so be it I guess. :rolleyes:

Thats what I'm wondering too. My post with the picture of Rene Burri (between IMG tags) got deleted, so apparently that isn't OK, even though the picture is all over the internet and I mentioned it was his photo.
 
Please read rff's FAQ, terms of service. Rule #6 states: You will not upload, attach or post any material you are not the creator and/or copyright holder of. It is however acceptable to post links to publically accessible material.

These are not rules invented by the moderators, they were put in place by the site owner.
 
This one. As a young soldier I was standing about 10 meters from the photographer. I was in total awe of the skill and bravery of not only the pilot but the rescue crew as well.Real bravery, not the bar room bull$*#!.
Just after this photo was taken the pilot lifted over the wave.
