Thanks, Don.
It’s not my usual way of working with things, but seemed to me to work well with this image, to my mind at any rate. It started off as Velvia 50. I really liked the colors of the original image, very Fall colors, and I have a straight scan version of that as well. Usually, I quit there if the color transparency is working really well for me, which it was in this case. Sometimes, with Velvia, if I don’t like the colors, I will do a black and white conversion and see if I can get something out of it that way, instead of just tossing it, as the Velvia grain is so fine it yields very nice monochrome if asked. Did that on this one just to check, but used Color Efex Pro for the conversion instead of Silver Efex Pro. Converted it to sepia toned, then took a control point and added back just a tiny bit of the original color to the leaves in the center of the frame, as they were sunlit to start with. As much as I liked the full color original, I liked this one better, so went with that.
Thanks for asking.

Terry Schrunk Plaza in downtown Portland, Oregon has been the epicenter of most of the protest. In one corner is a peaceful, zen like area, that despite all of the chaos around it.

Thanks Larry.

That little pop of color does make it, for me anyway.

Thank you, Pan!

I took this picture forty years ago, but I still remember how I took it. She was looking at me from time to time - maybe her company was annoying - so looking through the camera I waited until she looked again and when she did, I took the picture. Afterwards we had a laugh and that was it. In the square in front of the Pantheon.

I consider it to be one of your finest. Thanks for the story.
