This will have to do until I get the dp3m... I wish I could have stood off a bit more.

Curious if people like or dislike the OOF effect (done in camera) on the first shot?

Not sure if I like or dislike it right now.
I actually like the flower shot the best.. The graffiti like shot for its color is interesting...

Now that I think about it, when my wife and I were in Australia about 11-12 years ago, isn't most of the canopy pretty dense w/ not a lot of light coming thru?
Your first picture gave me that same feeling. This one has a much more inviting feeling to it.

Incredible! Did you use AML-2 Close up filter for that shot?
This one's with a bit of crop

Louis, the relatively dark ceiling area in that image you posted, which I like very much, leads me to pose a question. Under similar conditions (when there is a difference of at least 3 stops in the scene), I find the DP Merrills sometimes produce strange color casts. Have you noticed this, and if yes, what is your work-around? Thanks, Jon.

So, I'm finding that when I take daytime skyscapes with clouds, I get a very noticeable green cast in parts of the sky.

Trying to explain the aurora borealis in broad daylight at such a southern latitude is not how I want to pass my time. :bang:
The best I could do in PP (didn't really have a heart for it) was to use control points in Viveza to lower the green locally. The result is a more magenta/blue cast.

I find these results unacceptable. And I really really want to be able to shoot skyscapes. :bang:
Note: I don't see a green cast in other shots, only in skyscapes. And in skyscapes, it almost always appears.

To be honest i am slightly color blind. I maybe able to c all the colors but subtle shades of differences in the same color group, I can't tell the difference.
So that first shot u posted I can't c the problem. But the second one I did spot the magenta cast u mentioned.
There was a writeup from a blogger I posted a while back that showed that the wb algo is only slightly different for dp1 and do2 but quite different for dp3. Wb would affect more the cast or tone of the whole picture.

I'll post a whole series of photos with the green cast in sunlit cloud/skyscapes in another thread, Gary.

This is the window casement in the glow of sunset. Very minimal post done on this image. (just a little bit of curves).
