Hello Margus, is this a camera jpg or processed RAW file?

Great shots again Margus, and congrats Helen with your DP2!
I suddently got a X100s today (pre-ordered), but I don´t feel any love for it... The DP1 on the other hand.., I might just sell the x100s this weekend and get a DP1 instead.

That's great Helen and cropping is something that is easy to do with the Sigma files because they are so good and suffer very little ... resolution to burn!

How are you going with the post processing and using SPP ... I find converting the raw files to TIFF in SPP and moving them on to something more useful a pretty painless process now.

Can't wait to see some of your efforts in black and white when you become more familiar with the camera and its output. ISO 1600 raw files have their own look. :)

One really interesting thing with the DPM is the different looks you can get by under or over exposing. I've over exposed images by a stop to two stops occasionally to get that high key look and although you do lose highlight detail the transition into those areas is unusually subtle for digital. For high contrast scenes like this the camera absolutely blows my D700 out of the water!

Thanks Melancholy, its Beautiful in rendering , STELLAR in fact
BUT I am finding the battery life scary, just 30 shots which is alot for me & then battery goes dead.
People say they can get up to 100 shots, don't believe em :bang:
And my only other complaint, i find the camera useless in low light which is a Drag.

good choice helen, almost looks like a mono shot.
Loved all that Chrome , Thx heaps Joe !

Wonderful Atmosphere Keith !!
Great thoughts /Insights into the Foveon Sensor... Thanks for your Guidance

Helen

The battery life seems to get better after each recharge, especially if it gets a good long one.

For shots over iso 400 set the camera to mono mode. The b&w u get our of raw to tiff spp conversion are great. U should be good to 1600 in mono..

Have fun
Gary

I'm fascinated by the effect the DPM and earlier DP cameras have on people ... I noticed it as soon as I started lurking around these threads. Before you know it you've bought one so you can feel part of this unusual dynamic ... then you discover after a learning period that you own a very, very capable little camera!

Simply Superb Margus
The DP sings & Rocks with your Eye & Touch :D

Margus... amazingly beautiful images. Thanks for posting them. 'Dogs running' is my favorite.

Thnx :]

Raw me thinks. Shot in very rusty-dusty Angola-Congo border where even clouds seemed to be orange-red, hence the cast.

Other area I find DP2 does very good is macro.

And surprisingly good for landscapes.

Margus,

You are making me hanker for the Sigma DP2 on sale at the local camera store. The colors are bloody amazing.

Even with the clay-colored cast the images still look real because they have been exposed very well and processed very skillfully.

Im presently having. love/Hate relationship
With Miss DPM2
Love her for her Colourful Foveon Personality
'She' has given me Lots of Attention on flickr... Having put up just One Photo
'Life in a Machine'- which got on 'Explore'
and in 24 hrs received 900 views, 106 Favs & 17 comments.
I mean its just a Laundromat shot...lol

But am pulling my hair out over Battery Life, & low light shooting simply because I REFUSE to use flash
just don't like it...kills the moody atmosphere with too much light
