I was teaching some classes to students from UWF, but the classes were done in Nagoya, Japan. One of the courses was on street photography.
It was a building which had a pool as a ceiling. I was showing my students how to capture some street photos. Then I saw the man "walking on water", so to speak.

Fujifilm 100 or 200 maybe in a Canon P with a CV 25/4.

I hope no one was doing drugs when they saw that photo or that scene. Yikes! That would scare them.

Another Day of the Dead. In order to have a place to stay I had to rent the whole guest house for the five days at an inflated rate. That or nothing. I am very glad I did. This is a huge event in Mexico and especially big in the Patzcuaro area. This is a no jive-time as real as a heart attack these folks are back from The Underworld tonight event, just tonight, and not again until next year. It is celebratory and folks sell food and drink to the crowds. Ponche is a drink of fruit, spices and sugar and really, really good and piping hot so it helps on those chilly nights. Show up, be polite, show respect. When you do that you are welcome. Silence and reverence is expected.

I had a small altar back in my room at the guest house for my father-in-law who was as fine a man as ever walked the earth. It had the required Marigolds and some Baby's Breath, sugar representations of cigarettes, whisky and food. I sat up late with the old guy.

A friend and his wife visited me from France while I was in Mexico. We drove around the area. Patrice and his bride were shopping onyx in Tequila when I caught this local beauty.

This is an excellent catch. I like how the sideview mirror adds depth to this image. We can see more about the neighborhood.

A recap, those guys in the mirror were standing on the corner and you know they were talking about the young beauty alongside my truck. I enjoyed the moment then and enjoy it still. I relive so much of my happiness in Mexico through these old photos. And that little 3.3MP Sony DSC S70 CCD did a great job with color and image, with a Zeiss lens.

Yes, another ship. We have a lot of them. The Columbia is busy with freight traffic of all sorts. Grains go out, fuel and cars come in. Here is a
"Ro-Ro" (roll on-roll off) car carrier heading upriver to unload in Longview or Kalama or similar. They can unload what needs to be unloaded in hours and head back out to sea. You can't sell a car that is not in the showroom. I got lucky with this shot. X2D + XCD 55V.

The first digital camera I bought was an Olympus E-PL1. Once I bought the electronic finder and replaced the "ok" kit lens with the under-rated gem 17/2.8 prime & put it in 1:1 aspect ratio and monochrome jpg mode, I was in heaven and learned a lot about how to use digital. It's paid off once I spent much more money on my D810 & Leica M 240. These may or may not be the "best" I took with that combination, but they are my favorites.

I took this photo with a Canon FD system, most likely the Canon F1N with the Canon 28-50/3.5 and Fujichrome. This is Bryce Canyon, Utah. The colors were without any manipulations. No color filters and no PS. I used a Galen Rowell Gradated ND filter.

I wore two gloves and two hats. It was that cold. I drove at 4AM from Zion National Park where I was staying at a motel to Bryce Canon. I was warned to look out for deer and other animals on the roads. I remember how rewarding it was to capture such colors.
