To tell you the truth, I think that Ektar 100 has a kind of pleasant 'Kodachrome flavour' (don't know, a similar soft-warmish red-popping tonal range) and it's much, much easier to get the right exposure, and easy to scan, too.

I'll miss Kodachrome, but I admit that I get good pictures easier with Ektar.

I haven't ever used a lot of Kodachrome, but have really been pleases with the rolls I have. I am down to my last roll and don't know what I'm saving it for.

Great stuff in this thread. I've never shot Kodachrome myself (and I suspect it's too late to start) but here's a Kodachrome taken in Portugal by my father in 1987:

I suspect it was taken with a Pentax SP1000 and Takumar 55 f/1.8. He used that camera and lens for years.

Just found this thread, I was in Rochester when it started. I have been so fully wrapped up in the Kodachrome Project for the past 5 years, that only now, in looking at this work did I realize how dreadfully sad I am going to be when Grant shuts the K-14 line down...and I will be there when he does.

I am member of a local photography-community here in Sapporo and since yesterday we have our annual photo exhibition. This year I have chosen the topic "A small tribute to Kodachrome" and exhibit 6 photos taken on KR-64. Sad to see the film go ...

Just looking at these photos - what a cultural icon we are losing! So many memories recorded on Kodachrome!

I always considered it to be at its very best in low and mixed light:
