Is the S Sonnar hard to find ....
Is it discontinued ?

Only one batch of 300 were made, Helen. its still possible to find here in Tokyo. Popflash also has a few I think. I just sold mine to an RFF member in HK (another sale I'll probably regret...).

The way the USD is going, you're gonna have to learn to work that google converter sooner or later, Helen ;)

But I'll be kind :D

I saw a used one minus hood recently for 70,000 yen (approx. $870) and new ones can still be found for around 98,000 yen (approx. $1,210).

short hello and a possible tip for Helens google adventure

short hello and a possible tip for Helens google adventure

Hello,

Since im quite new to the Nikon RF gang, i must first say hello, and say that i second the nature of both the Sonnar and the Millenium 5cm lenses.. They are both very nice, and the sonnar is so "small" that its a joy to carry around..

The Millenium ive shot some aswell on the M9, and its a quite nice lens with a more "natural look" than the 50 ASPH.. Will find some photos..

Helen:
I dont know if im misunderstanding here but google could be your friend... if you just enter in google "2500 JPY in USD" the problem is solved... and of course it works with all other currencies...

Nate portraits are simply stunning BTW... Exposure is spot on as usual..

Focusing is the other way, this was my fear entering the S system, but so far im not completely lost or thought much about it... BUT i will never combine the two systems on a day out.. I think ;)

best,
Are
