Post your POS car ugly and rusty junker

Well it didn’t start as a disaster but had a very extensive restoration including engine rebuild to a neck snapping 60hp, air conditioning ( very rare ) restored with all new components, all new interior including custom burgundy leather seats, black carpet, 2 tone gray side panels, rechrome everything, new dash, new rubber seals, new top and liner, body work and paint. Wound up being a beautiful car and ran great. We drove it for several years and then sold it.

Unfortunately the before photos are misplaced but the restoration made a huge difference.

Way back in 1974 I was an 18 year old working as a toll collector. One day a Stunning Black Studebaker Cruiser pulled into my lane. Being a Stude fan, driving a base model with a 6 and 3 on the tree, this beauty blew me away! “I Love your car!!!”, said I, and the reply was “you wanna buy it?”..........and so began my ownership! Now we are here in 2023, and I still have that car. It’s been up and down...spent decade lapses in its running, usually under a car cover and full of stuff (a shed). Then, I’d get the bug and get it running for a year or so. Now, it hasn’t been anywhere close to roadworthy....my wife said “that thing will never run again.”. But fate intervened. A fault has sidelined my Range Rover, and in January I decided the Cruiser Must Rise From The Dead. It was a mild winter, and after over fifty separate “projects” I got it up and running, polished and cleaned. It’s got me to work and back daily (14 mile ride) and really got all the bugs out and at times it feels just like a new car. It’s really crazy in a way, in 1976 I was driving that car to my golf course Greenskeeper job......and today, I’m driving that car to my golf course Greenskeeper job! Great story! Great car.

A friend in high school in the mid 60’s had a 1950 Studebaker with the jet intake nose. Was it called the hawk? Anyway I rode around in it some and loved that body design.

Well, this is anything but a POS or a rusty junker! Was there ever a Stude that wasn't magnificent? Nice 'do, by the way. I hear you on the hair thing... 🙄
 
It's hard to resist. Not one of mine, although I do recall the neighbors on more than one occasion standing on their porches and applauding when yet another derelict was towed away from the front of our house. Meantime, speaking of Studebakers....

Where I live, they're not "derelicts", they're lawn ornaments. Set them up right next to the discarded toilet repurposed into a geranium planter. You're stylin'!
 
Center: remains of a Citroën SM (Citroën car, Maserati engine). Background: two more SM's, stripped down to bare chassis.
Ten years ago, I chatted with the garage owner. He said he would make two nice SM's out of his three junk ones. As things turned out, he seems to have sold away the parts and to have given up on his initial goal.
