Went to Vegas for 10 days on a business trip. Had the Leica in the carry bag ready to go, but in a rare moment of sanity I realized I would have less than 2h of photo time during those ten days, and the M would be overkill. The RX100 was called into action, and on the sole day I had time to take an early morning photo walk, it performed admirably. The rest of the pics (nighttime) were shot from the dirty glass of my hotel room window.

One more. Here you can see the internal reflection on the double pane glass window. I actually don't mind them.

So much gear talk these days! Thank goodness for the picture threads that every now and then break through the noise...
here are a few more from the little Sony, a camera I've been using a lot lately even though I don't enjoy the experience as much as larger cameras. As my only digital, I've come to love how the instant feedback of the LCD can help me figure out empirically if the flash/ambient light ratio works for the shot I want.
It took three tries to nail the correct shutter speed, but I was then rewarded with three fun shots that will definitely find a place on the yearly family album. While these shenanigans were going on, my wife was in the shower under the blissful assumption that the kids were being appropriately supervised by a responsible adult

Your comment caught me unawares, and made me laugh enough to almost inhale a cup of coffee!

the makeshift bounce flash of this camera is always pretty handy

I can appreciate your preemptive shot and photographic concern about the RX100 ability to capture her left hand after a shiny rock landed on her ring finger causing all sorts of havoc with contrast and dynamic range.
