Post your two favorite street photos

Pherdinand, your second one is stellar. Love the dof, composition - it all works. Nice...

Gene, I really like the repeating yellow in your photo and g'ddamn your scans are sharp....or is it the lens ;)

Francisco, I like it and I bet that even down in the echoing subways noone heard that Leica shutter go off :)

Erudolph, welcome to the forum and a great first submission. Good to see another San Franciscoan here :)

Kris - first of all cute avatar ;) I do agree about the dof problem but I think the main subject is so strong that the background automatically becomes 'blurred'.

NCCanonman, nice display of how capable the russki-lenses and the J8 in particular here are. Do you develop yourself?

Jo, great composition with one of the girls looking at you and one of them at the "statue". Was it with the Canon?

And Doug, Doug, Doug...what can I say...but thankyou for posting a larger version :)

Unfocuzed, love the flare you caught on her guitar. I like the second one as well - great blacks. Is it in Central Park?

Richard,
No, I usually take them to the local Kit's 1 hour (this was C41). I was happily surprised what these little "faux Leicas" can do.
With so many years shooting SLR's, I'm still reminding myself "Take off the lens cap!" :p

Thank you very much. And yes it is from when my sister used to live in NY before she left for china.

Richard, this thread is going to be the Energizer Bunny of the RFF. It keeps coming and going, and going... and getting better every time!

Jorge, if you still want to do the calendars, here's abundant material to mine! :)

get in with the fun....

get in with the fun....

Happy I have _an_ image to contribute, shot with my Zorki 4 earlier this month at the Ottawa Busker's Festival. Not bad considering I've only shot 3 rolls of 24 exp with a rangefinder; two with the Zorki, and one with the Oly Trip 35...which doesn't actually have a rangefinder (you just guess and set the focus ring to "person, people, trees, or moutain" :p

I have 1000's more shot with a Nikon FE...

Parking lot ballerina, taking with a Zorki 4, Jupiter 8, Kodak T400, scanned from neg with a cheapo HP 4470 scanner, contrast corrected in GIMP.

pesphoto -- I am glad you revived this thread! I had not seen it and there were some great shots in it. Here are my two. Both shot from the hip in Japan...and no, I don't have a schoolgirl thing, these are my only two photos of high school students here! I just happen to like the shots. Both Leicas with 35mm lenses.

My 2 faves

My 2 faves

First one I call "Soft mime and hard stares", taken with Canon G3 by the Kodak theatre near Hollywood and Highland, second was taken with Sony F828 on Sunset Blvd out of my car window while stopped at a red light and does not need a title.

Somewhat blasphemous to post digicam snaps but I couldn' t hold back, sorry guys

The first photo was taken in New Orleans of a Blues singer. It is one of my all time favorites.
The second one was taken at Petra (Jordan) in a tent, shortly after Iraq was bombed the first time. None was taken with a rangefinder, though.
some great shots in this thread. Raid, I especially love your capture from Jordan. Awesome!

tough to pick only 2. OK, here's a portrait of my grandfather done with a mamiya 6 and the 75mm lens. And a shot from Bombay, made with my trusty Bessa R2 and the CV 35mm 2.5 classic.
