I really enjoy the ability to take macro photos with the X100. Something I really miss when using my RF cameras.

Great image... wonderful, everyday moment. Thanks for posting it. And boy, the tonality in the X100 file is amazing. Is this in-camera b&w? Or do you use something like Photoshop or SilverEfex to convert it? Thanks for posting this one.. wow!

Thanks!
It's Silver Efex Pro 2, used on the Raw file, inside Aperture.

macro is hard work. four decent frames out of 48. all cropped to square to get a little better space/composition. all handheld because my tripod does not shrink to 4-inches tall. astia/250/macro settings. except for the budding iris, the little blossoms are 1/4-inch or less in diamter.

Sometimes, like in this case, the X100 makes a better B&W "print" than Nikon's Silver Efex Pro 2.

Maggieo: Afternoon Light shows some amazing dynamic range -- love it! I would not relish the prospect of trying to pull that off in the darkroom, even with graded paper....

I'm almost disturbed by the astounding quality of this little camera's 3200 iso jpegs

Thanks! The X100, along with Silver Efex Pro 2, is capable of quite a lot, I'm finding.

I got suckered into attending a baby shower so I could drink Everclear Punch and keep the father and and grandfather entertained.
