Ray, thanks. I don't post lnks on forums but my own.
I am good with the camera for years.

I use LR and Nik Silver Effex 2. It's a great way to work.

There are many good shooters and images here. It's a blessing to find such a civil crowd.... Did I say that?

I just went out two times only, so I left almost everything default on the camera, except white balance which I put one click towards yellow.

The jpgs that come out for me with these settings are quite flat, which I like. I used viveza 2 for some minimal dodging burning ala silver efex pro, and then I used alienexposure 3. This is perhaps similar to the in-camera film modes but I like how with this way you can add it and tone it down after the fact.

The way the photos are now they look a lot like what I saw at the scene. There are some great 'old' colours there of paints and building materials you don't see anymore and some very nice combinations of glows and reflections - so I think you might just like the colours of these backstreets close to my house.
The software does bring it out though.

Do most of you shoot raw? I normally do, but haven't up till now..

Colour raw imported into LR3 with lens correction and then exported to Silver Efex pro 2. Once back in LR3 I exported a reduced file size to Photobucket for web use.

Here's another one from today's walk. The high fence to the left belongs to a theme park, although it looks more like a prison.

Thanks, i'm glad you like it. I am always pleased with how the X100 renders different shades of green and when in Silver Efex these can be enhanced by using the 'filter' function. I love this camera and Silver Efex.
