Some great shots here. I have had mine a week and still figuring it out. This one was RAW and manual focus with the AF button. f/4 seems to be its sweet spot and at least -1/3rd EV of exp. comp. This camera always gets its shot and so far, I am very impressed... for a film guy.

Laney is a US Marine Corps veteran of the Gulf War, an amputee and homeless. I hung out with her for a little over an hour and learned some of her story of the past few years.

Silent1, looks just like a good film scan...I love it.

Thanks David, I've been actually trying to re-create that particular look. Not that I don't like the X100's jpgs, they look very nice and clean indeed, but somehow I miss the roughness and crazy colors (the "soul"?) of a color negative.

My word this is a good place to be. I have found it hard to find a group like this with such a variety of styles and interests and quality.

Excellent images everyone. I just got my camera last week, after mulling it over for the last year or so. I probably should have just got it when it first came out, because I really think this is what I've been waiting for all these digital years, while using either plastic, unergonomic heaps or huge, heavy full frame hunks, with massive mediocre lenses. I think I'm finally home :).
