It's a custom preset I made in Lightroom, here's a before/after:

PM me your email address, I can send it to you if you like.
It's not useful for every photos, but most of the time you get the desired effect by tweaking the brightness/black levels and curves.

Thanks for the kind offer Silent1, but I don't have Lightroom, and have never used it.
Presumably Lightroom settings can't be directly translated into settings for Photoshop?

Dark museum lighting - ISO3200, 1/15s, f/4 handheld. I'm enjoying this camera very much after a week of use. But I still think my Hexar AF images still have that extra "something", or maybe it's just all in my head.
