Posted some new photos

I like number 7 best, William. It's not often people photograph cemeteries in color. It's a lot less riskier in B & W where the tombstones set the mood. I like the fact that by shooting in color and in bright sunshine you've shown a "life goes happily on attitude" instead of the usual doom and gloom of cemetery photos. BTW, what camera, lens, and film were you using?

Thanks for the comments, Nick. I had my Lieca CL w/my Collapsible Summicron & Canon 135/3.5 along with me and Fuji Reala for the film. The grass, flowers & trees just made a nice mood. It's part of the cycle of things, so why should it always be sad?

My favourite was #5. And, as Nick mentioned, I found the use of colour interesting considering the subject matter. I usually use B&W for cemeteries, unless I'm planning to move in closer on the stones (for things like mosses or lichens.
Well done.

William,

It must be a Midwest thing, I had just gone to the local cemetary and shot color film a couple of days ago. I was just using my Yashica GT and Kodak 400 UC film.

Some vandals had broken several headstones years ago and some of them have been repaired.

Wayne,
It could be. Those are good - I especially like the Derby's stones.

I didn't intend to do it this way, but I was glad to have color loaded when I stopped there. I could have easily reloaded with black and white but it was a bright beautiful day after too many days of rain. I had loaded a roll of Reala since it's my favorite color film and just went driving to find something that could be done well in color. This wasn't what I expected, but as soon as I saw the sign, I knew it was where I was going to shoot.

Life continues; the Earth abides. I put the silo in the one shot to try and draw a line from then to now. Glad to see that some have gotten something out of them.

Thank you all,

William

joe,

I really enjoy using them both so I'll have to admit that I am pleased things worked out the way they did on them both. Given your tastes, I think that 40/2 will have a much more appreciated time ... once it finally gets there :bang:

Thanks, Rob. It does make for a very different take on it. I should try it in early morning or late evening light sometime... 🙂
