Posting photos

I am unable to post photos to this site. These are photos taken with RF cameras and scanned at CVS to a CD. Each time I attempt to post photos, I get a message back that the picture is too large. How do I reduce them so they will post? I am running Windows XP. Awaiting your response.

Resize the image in Photoshop, I do 800-900 pixels wide and 72 DPI. Are you posting in the gallery or thread?

I make my photos smaller when I export them from Lightroom. There is an option for filesize. You can also do it in photoshop. If the file is huge, I resize it first so that one side is 1024 pixels wide. Not sure if this entirely necessary but it seems to work. Then when I am saving the file there is a box with Jpeg options. Changing the image quality changes the file size. The actual file size is shown at the bottom. I only have the first photoshop version.

There is probably a simpler way.

It took me a while to get a picture up here too!

Thanks for the responses. I found the magic button to downsize the photos and loaded four pictures from my QL17. They are now in the gallery. Again, I appreciate your help.
