I have a soft leather zipper pouch made by Leitz for the CL.
Interesting! Do you know the model number?

Hi,
Why not just use a plastic resealable freezer bag? Or an old fashioned tobacco pouch?
BTW, the soft leather pouch for the CL was part no: 14,542.
BTW 2, if I was going to make one I'd buy one of those large lens cleaning clothes and make it out of that. A simple pouch with (say) a fold over Velcro fastening shouldn't be that hard to make.
Regards, David

The zip one is pretty close, but I think I'm visualising something more tailored. Not into the draw-string types.

Apart from having zero class and looking exceedingly naff to my eyes, it would do a very good job of retaining moisture if the camera was used in a damp environment.
Or an old fashioned tobacco pouch?
A possibility. Not sure about size, but worth looking into.

Far too porous, and arguably too thin to provide even minimal protection from bumps.
The little cases that come with Rollei 35s seem to be about right - good water resistance if one is caught in a downpour (cotton jacket which may well let water in after a while), reasonable protection, and open enough to be breathable (through the zip and the hole where the wrist cord goes in).
At the moment, I have a Garmin GPS case which is made of cordura type fabric with a soft lining, and is zip closed. Unfortunately, it's rather longer than the camera and takes up pocket space. Its size for the camera's height and thickness is good, though. It also feels more protective than the Rollei case without adding very much bulk.

Hi,
The freezer bag was suggested as being minimalist and fitting into a jacket pocket. As for bump protection, I doubt if that is possible within a jacket pocket's size limitation. Unless we are talking about a poacher's pocket but then you might as well get your tailor to run up the matching cover at the same time. The tobacco pouch I saw as being a little more stylish.
Or you could search for one of these:
There's space in it for an extra cassette but I couldn't be bothered to re-arrange it for the picture.

Sorry, no. The leather pouch just has the usual "Leitz Wetzlar" embossing on the front. It looks a fair bit like the Benser case pictured earlier in this thread.
I think this pouch was standard with the Leica CL, at least that's where I got this one. I sold the CL, and kept the case. Probably not the best choice financially, as the CL's now command a price almost as ridiculous as the Contax G2's, but I get a lot more use out of this case than I ever did from the camera!
Cheers,
Dez
