Praise for Aires lll-L
I am new to the rangefinder game. I started more as a collector then as a rangefinder photographer. I just thought rangefinders looked interesting. Also new to e-bay, I started collecting humble user rangefinders that I thought were cool. My intention was never to use them . . . BUT THAT WAS BEFORE THE AIRES lll-L ARRIVED!
The Aires lll-L is a fixed lens Japanese Leica clone that can be found for well under $100.00. Probably because of the fixed lens, people tend to pass this camera up for the standard screw mount version. All the better for the rest of us! This camera is a little on the heavy side, but it is absolutly built like a tank (something I love in a camera . . . being a Nikon F-5 user)! The viewer is bright and a pleasure to look through. Now if only I could get my exposure right . . . (no meter on this thing) . . . 😉
