Praise for Jon Goodman - camera seal kits

Jon is a fine Texan and probably more responsible than anyone else living today for the continued life of many vintage cameras. He's a super guy and always takes the time to give helpful advice.

I just emailed him, but have to say that texans are damn good people. Everybody from Texas I've met or have had contact thru the interwebs are really nice genuinely good people.

Jon is a really top guy. I heard of him over on a forum called talkphotography in the UK. I think he has pretty much the whole film camera using fraternity there as customers!

I'll join the praise :). Have just used a kit today for my recently bought Minolta Hi-Matic 7S. Everything perfect as usual with excellent instructions, as usual.
Great to have people like him around

Has anyone heard from Jon recently? I bought a seal kit from him last October, but one of my customers (I work at OldSchoolPhotoLab.com) is having trouble getting in touch with him...

Does anyone actually know him? Is he ok? Still selling kits via direct sales?

I also got my last kit from him in October. He is such an amazing person to deal with I hope everything is fine. His kits and his service is outstanding. Last I talked to him he was having issues with evilbay and paypal. Something about fraud.

Anyway, keep us posted if anyone gets in touch with him, he is a great asset to us who love old cameras.

PS, his Yashica 35 kit with the POD fix!!!! AMAZING, the instructions are so perfect.

Kudos to Jon Goodman!

Kudos to Jon Goodman!

I need new seals for my Olympus XA. Just emailed Jon Goodman at:

JGood21967@aol.com

Got a very nice personalized response within 2 hours! He offered to send out a new seal kit prior to receiving payment! Now that is service!

He did say he stopped using ebay and paypal because of fraud, but he is still active in the camera seals arena.

Just wanted everyone to know that integrity is still out there! Can't wait to try out the kit! :)

Regards,

Kent

He really is a "good man" isn't he! Both kits I've gotten from him included detailed instructions that were beyond imaginable! simple but technical, and very thorough!

He also sells a little battery shell that you insert 675 hearing aid batteries into that supplies the 1.35-1.4 volts that the old PX625 mercury batteries supplied ($14). I use it in my Zeiss Ikon Contaflex Super BC, Minolta SRT 201 and MInolta Himatic 7s.

Thanks for the contact data. I need to re-seal a couple of nikons (FM3a and FM2), a YAshica FX3 super and an Olympus OM-1, so will contact him ASAP. I was worried about not finding his ebay account but thanks to this thread I know how to contact him
Best regards and thank you
Robert

Agreed 100% - John's seals are good, the instructions great and he's really helpful if you need to contact him

I have dealt with Jon for several years now and have refoamed different Pentax, Canon Rangefinder, and Russian cameras. No matter what the make or model the kit has worked perfectly every time and the instructions have been simple and easy to follow. Jon is one of my heroes.

WOW, the post is most timely. My last kit from Jon was almost gone and the few pieces left had lost the "sticky". I've been googling and emailing all the wrong addresses for the last 3 or 4 weeks. Will mail him tonight.

I have had XA2, Lomo and 35RC seal kits over the last couple of years. All arrived promptly to UK with easy email confirmation.

He has to be the go to man for seal kits!

James

Before you could buy generic foams kit from Jon and use it on as many different cameras you like.
Now he sells only ready made kits for particular camera that I find a major minus.
Communication and service is good but no thank you any more.
