Pre-Ashp 35/1.4 Summilux vs Voigtlander on M8

+1 if you can find one at a reasonable price, buy it. if you don't like it, i'll take it off your hands. i think the f1.7 ultron has a higher price tag in the used market than the 35/1.4 these days 🙁

In the right light, the 35/1.4 SC "glows", too, just not as much 🙂

Wow, the glow on that book is just like the glow on many 'lux wide open images.

The pre-asph 35 lux also has a subtler glow wide open, lots of micro contrast. I'll try to attach an example. Perhaps the CV does this type of "glow" as well, and I just haven't seen it.

This works just for the SC version, Ted, and back-lighting in this situation was very strong. Maybe 8 stops contrast or more ....

In my experience the pre-asph "glow" (veiling flare) is stronger.

Yep. 3 copies, Joe. All gone though. A little harder (OOF & sharper) than the 35, but not by much. I can recommend the SC version there too, great colors on slide film and I imagine on digital, too.
