Not a very good one....Summitar

There's a roll of Fomapan 100 in it. Still need to shoot half of it. But I can't tell if the shutter speeds are up to scratch. the two 1/100th settings sound very different from each other. The RF has low contrast, not sure if the mirrors are bad or if it's just the dust in there.

Thank you, Rick, for showing the camera. Looks are great.

The difference between the sounds of the 1/100 speeds is completely normal. The speeds on the 1/100 - 1/1000 scale have a double spring tension. You are very lucky if everything works as it should.

Usually the windows of the rangefinder are a bit dirty on the inside. A little cleaning helps a lot. The shutter is more important however. See the Zeiss Ikon RF-thread. It would be great to see your pictures of this camera in that thread.

Erik.

Thanks David, I needed some sunny bright shots, it's a foggy day in the Netherlands.

See if I can get some shots of that with my uncoated nickel Elmar and Sony A7 later today ;)

Go for it!!... Those old elmars are wonderful...have fun!

I'm off to New Zealand north island in a weeks time... So excited by all the photo opportunitues!!

Those are great Dave,

How do you verify focus or is there a simple preset or distance table when working with a BELUN?

I haven't had much opportunity to shoot film these last 2 weeks, let alone any of my Leicas :(

Thanks Rick! The Belun is pretty easy to work with... The stand sets the distance and you set the focus on the elmar to infinity. Of all the leitz close up tools, this is the one I use the most by far...
