That dark burgundy is REAL nice. This pic doesn't do the verdigris kid justice. The colour is rich yet not over-the-top. The Japanesque is cool, but I'm thinking an M just shouldn't be too out there.

Dark red does go very well with chrome. I plan on eventually doing all the cameras that I intend to keep (including my Canonet) in oxblood leather...somewhat like the Leica a la Carte red leather. I found a really good place to get good quality leathers. I think the problem will be getting things cut correctly.

After I got the P I carried the thing around with me everywhere. I wouldn't let it out of my sight because it was that valuable to me. I *still* do it and I *still* like thing thing to be in my sight at all times. At work I keep it by my purse up at the front of the store so that I can always see it. People seem really interested in it, too.

It wasn't too long ago that Joe had just 3 Canon P's for his collection of Canon lenses. A short while ago a Zeiss came into his life but he sent it for exchange due to a RF alignment issue. Today is the day he'll likely get his Leica M3. What do you think will happen? Matter/antimatter annihilation? An epiphany? Love at first fondle? Will he like the rounded ends?

When I got my second Hexar RF a few years back (along with my 50 and 90 lenses), I immediately ran out to get the Perfect Bag for the combo - a Domke 803 Satchel. Turned out next to nobody in all of New York City had 'em that week except Calumet on West 19th Street. They had one. In black. Perfect.

That bag, and its contents, went out the door with me almost every damn day. (Bleep) the laptop - this was more serious. This went on for almost two years. Not long from now, it'll likely happen again, but not quite as intense. This definitely didn't happen with the last pair of SLRs I used regularly (Minolta 9xi), largely because of the battleship-chains-weight lens system I had for it. There's a reason why old guys with Leicas usually don't walk listing to one side.

Absolutely doable. I've had an M3 and heavy 50/2 DR in a bag on my shoulder every day for the last year or two. Eventually you start wanting to carry other lenses... and then you've got (checking), a 50 DR, CV 40/1.4, 35/3.5 Summaron and a 90/2.8 TE walking around with you. Maybe I'll add my name to the pathetic list. 🙄
