Well, thanks - given that I just turned 50, I suppose I'm not doing too many things wrong (and, lordy, ditching the SLRs certainly helped my posture).

I think that M3/Canon 50 combo is a pretty good "daily driver". Could be rather addictive, though...

i think it would be somewhat ironic to be addicted to a 50mm behemoth after searching for all those tiny canon 35's.

Joe, I've always thought the Leica M was the ideal every-day camera.

I looks impressive ! It was well worth the waiting I think. 🙂

I'm with Ralph on this one, and even more after seeing these shots, black is better, and the more resemblance to the original vulcanite (IMHO) better too.

Btw I carried a Canon 7 with that very same lens and that very same grip, I must admit that after a week my shoulder didn't found that to be a good idea.

I found my M2 to be a very 'transparent' camera in use, little or nothing to disturb the picture taking process.

And it has the best RF patch I've ever used by far.

try a Nikon F2a with MD2/MB1 combination, 300/4.5 and 500/8 Mirror lens. You should see the compartment case I put it all in.

I carry both F2s and all Nikkor lenses without problem. But that is in the countryside, it's 3000 ft. above sea level, so gravity is smaller 😎

And there's no kryptonite pollution in the air weakening me.

Joe, Iv'e been thinking about the walnut myself. I think it is a good idea to be walking around with it for a few weeks. Then make a decision. I think it might be wise to not make any rash decisions (red). What will the P's think? And more important, how will it go with your wardrobe. Of course, if you do go red and it is bright enough, then you will most likely not need a red filter. Maybe you should start shooting IR...
As for the pathetic thing, I thought that was par for the course when we all signed up for this forum.

I still think the P is a sweet little camera. One advantage it has, of course, is the 35 finder. And it is certainly a bit cheaper than an M-2. Must get out mine, with the 35/2 and put it next to the M3. Should be a smaller package, and not just the lens.
