My M6 just started acting up like so:

The preview lever should show 3 pairs of framelines, 35/135, 50/75, 28/90. When the lever is at 35, I can push it all the way over to get the 28 lines to appear. However, if the lever is at 50, pushing the lever over will not make the 28 lines appear. Also, when a 50mm lens is mounted and I preview with the 35 lines, when I release the lever, the lines will be stuck at 35 until I rock the lever back n' forth a few times to get the lines settle back to the 50 position. Is this a sign that a CLA needs to be performed?

I'd say it's a sign that particular mechanism needs repair, whether or not the entire camera needs a complete overhaul depends on a few things, like how long it's been since it's had one and whether you can find someone to do just the frameline selector and how much it will cost versus a complete overhaul. It might be more economical in the long run to get the full monty now, especially if getting at the selector mechanism involves a good deal of stripdown.

ARGHH!! now the frameline is permanently stuck at the 35/135 settting!! Is this a common problem with the M6? I did some searches on this forum and nothing came up. ANy help would be appreciated.. thanks

doesn't seem common, though the frameline preview lever was mildly sticky on my hexar rf. a servicing took care of it.
