Everytime it stucks when the preview scan come to 46% or 48%.
The OEM software can't see the scanner.

Any idea it's a software problem or the scanner's?

Thank you so much!

Judson

EDIT:

I finally get it "work" with OEM software. However, the results are all pure black..

Are you running a 64-bit version of Win7? If so, you might be better off running WinXP in a virtual window and then running Vuescan from within that.

That's just a guess. I don't have any recent experience with Vuescan, and your issue with the software and scanning combo might be something else.

Every time I have had trouble with scanners and Vuescan, the cable was the culprit. Older scanners are much pickier about cables than new ones.

You really can ask Ed Hamrick who made Vuescan, he is very kind and helpful if there are any problems concerning his software.
A friend of mine has had problems to get his new scanner running and he was very happy about the support from Mr. Hamrick, who was helping until the problem was solved.

I have the same problem with my Scan Elite II: Windows 7 x64 and Vuescan.

For me most of the problems went away when I switched from Firewire to USB. It's painfully slow, but at least it's scanning now.

It's probably broke, so you should sell it to me!
(kidding, but I've been looking for one of these forever!)

Sorry I can't offer any new advice that hasn't already been given. Good luck though!

If you have Windows directed to the drivers of Vuescan you can use the orignal Minolta software. At least I can. Although I have the first version of the scanner.

That's what I've read, if Vuescan can detect the scanner, the KM software should also do, however it's not the case here.. quite frustrated..

Thanks anyway, I will try!

I'm using USB right now and I guess I can't use firewire for the II version?

When I had a problem with Minolta Multipro and Vuescan, I downloaded newer version of Vuescan, and the problem went away. Vuescan is a great software, just a bit finicky...

bit thread revival by myself, I finally get it "work" with OEM software.

Anyone may shed some light here?

You need to mention your computer setup.

Windows 7 - 32-bit or 64-bit?

Are you using Minolta drivers? Or drivers from Hamrick?

I am able to run my older Epson Expression Scanner only under a VMware virtual PC setup with Windows XP. I am using Epson Scan 2.75A but as a Win98/ME application under compatibility mode.

This also is how I was able to get my HP PhotoSmart S20 scanner to run.

I'm running it on Win8, I tried both Vuescan driver and the driver provide online which is demonstrated by lots of people to be valid..
