Hello everyone,
Just join the forum here, thought you have a very respectable knowledge of RF.
Anyhow, I just bought this Electro 35 GS, everything seems to work fine (test light, over/under warnning etc...) , but 2 problem occured, when I switched to "Flash", the shutter would not fire at 1/30 but stays up and acting like B instead, the shutter won't release until I let go the trigger. Same problem with Automatic in low light, the shutter would open as long as I hold it (acts exactly like B).
The F stop was wide opened @ 1.7 and ASA400. the it won't shut until I either release it OR point the lens at a light source!
We I use TIMER pointing at the same light condition (low light -yellow warning), the shutter seems to click @ 1/500 !
Hope you could enlighten me on this and give me some insight of how to fix this problem - Thanks in advance and greatly appreciated !

I'm not sure about the flash, hopefully G'Man will be along.
What F-Stop are you using on Auto? At F1.7 the shutter should close down fairly quickly; stopped-down can get very long exposures.

the f stop was wide open @ 1.7 and the ASA was set to 400, but still act like B, the shutter only close when either pointing @ a light source or when I let go the trigger!

Thanks everyone for the the help. I went with Jon's route, and replace the POD in 15min (surprisingly !), and clean the finder etc... now it works like NEW.
But one problem ! I over tighten the cap of the winding lever and broke it (surprised that they made with copper instead of stainless steel like the Oly RF), now I can not retain the lever.... any idea on how to resolve this beside glue it back with liquid weld ????
thanks again

Thanks Gman, I'll try that ... otherwise, I'll have to buy a part 35 to replace the whole shaft ... btw, thanks again for the brillian illustration on how to dismantle/reassemble it.
