Today i bought the Jupiter 12..and want to use it on my Fed2 and Fed 5.
there was no problrm on my Fed 5 but Fed 2 is not!
when I put it onto my fed 2, the pie of the rangefinder beat my Jupiter 12..
and i can put the lens onto Fed2...:bang: :bang: :bang:
I am very confuse, because i never heard that Fed 2 can not use Jupiter 12..
theay are not Bessa R2a or etc....
Any one know that how can i solve this problem?😕 😕

There should be no problem using a J12 with the FED 2 as far as I know , Unfortunately your post is a bit confusing , Does the lens not screw in to the mount or is there some other problem ?

This also happened to me Kim. If the rangefinder is bent downwards, and there is only a slight contact between the cam ("pie") and the lens element, one can sometimes gently bend the rangefinder arm upwards. The rangefiinder will almost certainly need to be adjusted after this. Sometimes the camera and lens simply do not match - I have a FED 2 which will not accept a J-12 at all 🙁

Cheers, Ian

I have exactly the same problem with a Russar 20mm lens, fits one battered Fed 2 but not my minty user one, it hits the whole r/fcam. thankfully there is no problem with the Zarya, (no cam!!!)

I sent my Fed2 (will be up for sale soon) over to Oleg with this problem. He fixed it, the arm was pushed down (perhap flying monkeys were more prevelant that I thought). When it came back, no problem with any lens. I tried my J12 on my M6, M4P, and IIIa and it worked fine there.

Not sure how to fix it other than sending it to Oleg.

The "Pie" beat my Jupiter 12 seriously, and it distory the paint of the rear element!!!:bang:
I tried to bend the "Pie" upward but it still beat my J-12....may be i need to bend up more🙁
But fortunately...after I bought the J-12, My Fed 5 arrived, so I can use j-12 on it.🙂

I also had to bend the arm and pie up on my fed 2 in order for the pie to not scrape the paint on the rear element group.

Many FED-2s have this problem. Just take some pliers and bend the RF-sensor up until the J-12 can be easily mounted.

When mounting - always watch from the back through open shutter (B. for Bulb).

Sometimes recheck if the RF sensor is still fine with other lenses.

When done bending - recalibrate RF.

PS: Don't know if FED-2s do it also, but I had an even worse problem with my FED-3b: described in this post: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=499667&postcount=16

I had band the bend the RF-sensor up, and the the lens can be screw onto the body, but the other problem appear ...that is what Spyderman faced. the thumb was so long, that it hit the rear element of my J-12.:bang: :bang:
I am trying to shorten it without open up the camera top.
