this may have been covered somewhere, so i apologize, but i have used my 60 on xt1 for a couple of weeks without incident. i did not update firmware recently. yesterday out of nowhere i started getting a 'turn off the camera and restart" message when my 60 was trying to focus. i took out the batteries, switched the batteries, took off and re put on the lens, nothing helped. i can manual focus the lens, but attempting to autofocus gets me this message. anyone know why/what i can do?
thank you
tony

I suspect your lens' electrical contacts require cleaning.

This can be done by carefully (very carefully) using a soft pencil eraser to polish the contacts. Sometimes lens cleaning fluid applied sparingly and carefully with a Q-Tip will do the trick.

It is possible there is some residue on the lens mount itself that is interfering with a proper connection.

willie thank you so much for your reply. i found the problem from a suggestion made on another forum: i had attached an aftermarket 39mm hood to the lens thread, and while it fit perfectly, somehow it interfered with the lens focusing or focusing movement or some such thing, because when i removed it the problem disappeared. having isolated the issue, i am now in search of a 'lens protection' solution. the fuji cap is simply way too small for me to handle comfortably and the fuji hood doubles the size of the lens, so both are nonstarters for me. i do not like filters, and i'm not sure that attaching one would create the same problem...a bit of a quandry.
