Yeasterday... Foggy day... I was shooting with my MP at the park... And when I tried to move advance lever it moved half way, and that's all... I tried again but nothing... It surprised me because it was 24 frame, and still 12 to go... But I had no choise... But to rewind it and load with new film...

Now, can someone tell me WTF (pardon) was that?..

maybe it was just a bad cassette . have you developed the roll yet ? the film manufacture may have cut you short and only put a 12 exposure in the box . this would be the simplest explanation .

if the sprocket holes of the film were not engaging the teeth of the gear sprocket, this can happen.
only so much film can be pulled out till the camera jams up.

Yes, the film is developed, but I don't do it my self... When I came to the lab, the film was cut on the 24th frame... When it was HP5... So there must be 36... And I thought that the man who developed it musta cut the long area where was no film...

UPD:

I looked closely to the film, and noticed, that it seems that there was only 24 frames...

Does Ilford make 24 frame films?..😕
If so... Then I have some questions to people who sell me this as 36 frame film😡...

I sincerely hope that was the problem... Have you checked with another roll (different brand and type)?

After this experience, I'd be a bit leery about using the Ilford if you're going to get these unexpected surprises.

Take care! 🙂

I have had something like this happen. Now I know what it was. Occasionally, the 23/24 would overlap. I guess at about that length if the film is not properly aligned with the sprockets it jams up. (I shot 36 exposures later with no problem.) Never had this happen with any other camera...just the Leica M6.

That's strange... I thought that I did everything properly...😕

It sounds to me as if it was indeed a 24-frame film. If so, it ought to say '24 frames' on both the cassette and the packaging. Presumably, though, you don't have either of these any more.

Check out the rest of the rolls if you purchased alot at the same time. I always buy Illford HP5+ 36 ex rolls and I never check to see what the cannister says. One time the same thing happened to me and the whole lot of film I purchased was 24ex not 36ex. B+ H made it right real quick, had right film the nest day.
