Moderators,
Feel free to move this. Not clear whether it goes here, in geared, in discussion, in accessories.

Gents,
Received a ProCabin 67Z from the site. It came packed incorrectly and I'm trying to figure out whether it has sustained damage that I cannot repair. I am in touch with the seller.

The lens mount is out of true, with significantly less space between the top of the mount and the body of the projector than between the bottom of the mount and the body of the projector. It is jammed in that position and the interior of the box shows a circular imprint suggesting the mount received an impact jamming it into the body of the projector.

I am not eager to use brute force to reposition. Is there any chance this is the way it should be? Any ideas to reposition?

Thanks,

Giorgio

The alignment of the lens to the film plane is more critical than can be accomplished by eye, or with hand tools. I would send it back for a refund!

Thank you both. Anybody else with knowledge of how the lens mount is attached to the projector body? the inside is smooth except for a little nubbin used to engage the focusing channel.

If you insist on taking this apart and trying to repair the unrepairable, the seller will claim that YOU broke it, and he is thus no longer responsible. Just send it back and get a refund.

Hi Chris, no chance I will take it apart; just curious about the connection to the housing. I don't see it. I've now measured the slant of the lens seat and it is 9 -10 degrees from true. Must have taken quite a whack. Just a shame to see an otherwise useful piece of equipment damaged by inadequate packing. Thanks again.
