Processed my film..what the hell did I do wrong?

I just tried the process without stop bath last night and it worked fine! Of course, I overdeveloped my negatives on accident, but that's another story :)

Ah, you mean you found your "style" ;-) That's what happenend to Ralph Gibson some decades ago. :)

Seriously, I am also in the "no-stop-with-film"-camp. I use two water fills of the tanks, and I my negatives come out predictably each time, even though I use HC-110 Dil. B. and a "normal" time of 5:30.
The only important thing is to be consistent about it.
Why no stop with film for me? Not about saving money, as stop is about the cheapest chemical component in BW work. Just one bottle in the "line-up" :) less. Fixer life might be better if one used a stop, but I use two-bath fixing as described above in this thread, so I have got that covered.
