Prominent Nokton (1950ies vintage) german, variations

I cannot really add anything to this discussion other than to say that I used to own a Voigtlander Prominent camera and despite its quirky design I was singularly impressed by its quality. Also the quality of its lenses which were beautifully made and sharp although quite low in contrast. I owned three of these - the 35mm f3.5 the 50mm f2 and the 100mm f4?. Unfortunately I never owned the Nokton. But I must say having seen photos of the version of this lens made for Leica mount it was (and is) one of the handsomest lenses ever made. All that lovely classic "scalloping" around the focussing ring did it for me. More handsome even than the Leica Summicron DR - which I also owned and loved. One other thing about the Prominent that often goes unremarked is that having a leaf shutter, my impression was that it was very much quieter than even a well tune M3 (or at least my M3). It was a "cracker".

Nice to see that "new" Voigtlander is (rumoured to be??) making the classic Nokton once more in Leica mount.

Ah! Gotcha.

Here's what I'm using behind the Color-Skopar:

MS Optical MS-Pro Prominent-to-M39 adapter, and a 50mm M39-to-M adapter. The MS Optical adapter is cruelly expensive, but is it ever a nice piece of machining work! And it's mostly aluminium, so very light.
