Promo Shoot coming up this Saturday

Well, the on/off on/off on/off again local band is playing in town at a local bar and want me to shoot them for their new CD on Saturday afternoon. Already lined up a videographer with a videocam for their gig on Saturday night.

I will shoot a bit of digital indoors with somewhat low light but will be using the M3 and the R4 as well. Hopefully, we will have a decent outside location that I can use.

They actually may want some BW but knowing them they will prefer color images for the CD cover. So....

What 100 speed color film would you recommend for a band promo shoot? Until I see the location for the shoot tomorrow, I can only assume that we will shoot the cover photo outside.:angel: If not, and it rains, what indoor color film would you use?

I hear ya, but I will be shooting BEFORE he even shows up while we have an empty bar! After the show starts, he will be working, and I will be sitting at home with my feet propped up keeping up with RFF.:angel:

It's 2/3 of stop past 100 but Portra 160 has never disappointed me. I've mostly used VC to give me great all around results and if your planning on scanning them the difference between NC and VC become less noticeable. I feel getting good skin tones with Ektar might be difficult, its vivid yes but most portraits with Ektar haven't come out so great. Not without cutting back on saturation to get it to my tastes.

Five hours of digital and film extravaganza... The M3 and R4 were perfectly suited for the task. Digital superb as well. Thanks for the tips. And, Blake, for simplicity sake, I stuck with the digital for color and M3 with TriX for on-stage. The digital for color and R4 ISO 400 BW for outside.
Same workflow as I have used for the last 4 months on my book.:angel:
