Rhode Island Providence, RI, anyone?

Looks like the New England sub-forum has been quiet for a couple years.
Is anyone up here in the Providence area? Bethanne and I are seriously thinking of moving to Providence or its 'burbs. We like the housing market, the climate, and the availability of jobs in our fields.
Anyone here in the area? Recommendations for buying a house?

I'm about an hour north, in Cambridge, MA. All I know about the Providence real estate market is that it's considerably more affordable than the one up here! I don't know Providence very well, but I've always enjoyed visiting and found it to be a charming and interesting city. I know a few people who live or work in Providence; one of them, as I recall, found a house on an island somewhere, and commutes to work in the city by boat.

If you make the move, we should organize a Boston / Providence area meetup.
