just found out that this is available...has anyone used it and compared it to pse6?

are the panasonic g1 raw files supported by it?

I would like to know what people's experiences are as well. Based on the specs alone, I don't see any reason to upgrade from pse 6. Am I missing something?

While we are at it, what is the earliest version of PSE that is supported by OS-X?

Don't know. What I know is, that PSE 6 is the earliest version that runs natively on Intel Macs. Older Versions like PSE 4 run in Power PC emulation mode and that is so slooooooow.

i bought pse 8 for my mac today, have not installed it yet.

it was on sale plus there is a $20. rebate as well, all totalled it will be 40 bucks less than normal and that was incentive enough to buy/try it.

will report as i use it.

I have the PSE8 for 2 weeks now and it opens the ERF files looking a lot better than with the 6 and CS3. As of now, I am not using the advance features yet but will look into it like selective editing.

Does anyone know if PSE support's raw files like the Leica D-lux4 version? I don't think it supports Nik SW plug ins though, which I have on Aperture.

I thought the Nik plug ins always need PS or PSE as "runtime" in the background when you use them from Lightroom or Aperture?
I have PSE 6/Mac and have two Nik Plugins. Works nicely.

Man! this is great news!

So how do you access Nik plug ins with PSE? It seems I can only pull up Silver Efex with Aperture, not sure where to find Nik with PSE running.

i downloaded the trial software as a plug-in to pse. if your original purchase was stand-alone or to run with aperture, i don't think it'll open within pse as a plug-in.

It's a complete different setup and you have to download it separately. I think your Aperture License is also valid for the PSE Plugin. Try it or contact Niksoftware and ask them.

I took your advice and sent Nik SW an email. They have great products but I've found them a little slow replying to emails. Until then, my question now is can you access Nik on both Aperture and PSE or Lightroom for that matter?
