Psychadelic Colors with Epson 4490 + Vuescan

I am running an Epson 4490 and Vuescan x64 9.2.11 to scan some 6x7 Ektar negatives. Things went well for about 1 1/2 rolls. In the middle of the second roll, this happened:

I didn't change any settings, so I'm quite baffled by this. This has happened before on a different machine. Is this a scanner issue or vuescan issue? Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix it?

The blue parts look like you've turned on Pixel Colors on the Color tab, but the rest just looks odd.

Forgot I had this posted here after getting it solved at FM. The scanner calibration area was apparently a little too dusty. A quick wipe with my finger and things are back to normal.
