Yes I did it, I got in the mail yesterday a CV 25 f4 for the Nikon S2 and it fits very nicely on the Kiev 4aM. I took it out today with Fuji color film . The day is not too bright and very overcast and rain is forecast. It was indeed a pleasure to run that Skopar through its paces and so nice to be able to keep both eyes open while viewing and shooting. The viewfinder is a joy with those nice britelines. Hope the pictures turn out half as well as I think they will. If
I get any good ones I'll post in a couple days. Thanks for listening. BTW, I used hyperfocal distance on all shots except one which I actually focused using the focus wheel. The S2 is amazing!😀

I was window shopping the CV SC lenes yesterday at Cameraquest by the way. I have a Contax which will some day make its way to me, and I do want to find a nice S2 for my collection too. I really don't want to invest into another lens system though.

This is my first CV lens ( the SC 25mm f4) and so far I'm really pleased. It give me a nice perspective versus the Jup-12 35mm and it's nice not to have to take the few steps back to get what you want. The viewfinder is very bright and it is a delight. It's a big step for me 'cause all my photographic life I've been a telephoto guy, 85,90,100,135,150,200,300. The 35 Jup-12 changed all that and I'm happy to see the world through wide eyes.😉

M2 fan, I was going to respond twice but just didn't get to it. First I wanted to ask about your new? S2. I must have missed you getting it. Second, I began to type how I was excited taking photos with my then new LTM CV25, and how disappointed I was with the results. It took some getting used to (for me.)

Actually I've had the S2 since 1962 or thereabouts but I didn't use it much, I got it with the Nikkor f 1.4 50mm black lens and the clip on hood. At the time I used mostly an Exacta VXlla and several lenses. Anyway, when I started at RFF over a year ago it rekindled my RF spirit and here I am with an S2, Leica M2,Kiev, and a couple other FSU cams and lenses. I am enjoying photography again and try to go out everyday and shoot some. I liked the results of the CV I got back today, nothing earthshaking but good results for 1st attempt. I think I'll like it for certain subjects and I'm happy I can use it on the Kiev as well. I decided on the CV SC so that I could have a dedicated mount system instead of screw to M adaptor. If I get more Leica lenses I want M Mounts.
Thanks for your interest and sharing your thoughts and I hope you use the 25 CV and come to enjoy it and have more pleasing results.🙂
