Question about a Bessa-R combo.

Hi, I'm planning to introduce myself in the world of the rangefinder cameras, and I want to get a cheap combo of camera + lens...

My thought is to get in CameraQuest a Bessa-R body and from ebay the Industar-61 L/D lens (normally packed with the FED 5C)...

Then... my question: I know that the Bessa-R is rangefinder coupled for the 50mm focal distance, and the Industar-61 L/D is not exactly a 50mm lens (around a 55mm)... COULD I COMBINE THESE TWO ITEMS AND TAKE FOCUSED PICTURES? WILL THE INDUSTAR BE COUPLED BY THE BESSA BODY???

I'm not english speaker (sorry), but I wish you understand my questions...

I will review this post for your answers, but... could you e-mail me a copy of your answer to mjornet@ekno.com ??

THANKS!

You should have no problems focusing with this combination. The problem will be in composing the image. The 50mm frame lines in the camera will show more than what actually will be captured on the film, so you will have to compose with this in mind. Since it will only be the edges of the framed images which will be effected you can compensate by not composing the picture to the edge of the frame lines.
