Question about black cameras

All the Leica black cameras from the m5 on are black chrome other than special edition or limited run cameras . The late m4 are black chrome .
The finish is actually rather durable , but ugly when it wears .
It's dull so not noticeable - if its worn the camera has seen a lot of 'action'
No it bloody isn't! My M4-P looked so bad in 18 months that a Leica dealer friend advised me to send it back. Certainly ugly when it wears, though.

And my MP and M9, plus the M8.2 I had for review, were/are all definitely black paint.

Cheers,

R.

From what I remember reading at the time and what I read just now while researching it; The Kodak Pocket Instamatic 60 was the second camera after Leica to be made in black chrome! Really!
