Silly question: ¿do screw to M adapters add milimeters to the camera+lens length?

Question: I had not noticed my R4M has the 28 frame alone!, it looks so inviting and balanced on the viewfinder, so I think I will try that focal length as it's exactly in the middle of my 15 and my 40... I decided to learn about 28mm flat lenses... I like the CV 28 3.5 a lot, but can't find a black one... Maybe I'll have to wait for some time... But, is there any other option for a flat 28mm of any brand in LTM or M mount?

Again, size matters more than quality because it will be for non shooting days...

Thanks for any advice!

The Winogrand lens (Canon 28/2.8) and it's smaller brother, the 28/3.5 are tiny.

LTM adapters add a millimeter.

Roland.

The adapters are 1mm in thickness, but the M-Mount itself is 1mm closer to the film plane than is an Leica thread mount.

An M-Mount Summarit on an M3 will be the same depth, front of lens to back of camera, as a thread mount Summarit using an LTM to M-Mount adapter. (I haven't measured it, but it just has to be, and I could when I have them both out)

So Yes and No....

Thanks for the answers, I see adapters add almost nothing, that's good news... I'll start reading on both canon lenses.

Anyone selling a black CV 28 3.5? Just kidding: there are two other members asking the same on the classifieds...

Anyone selling three of them? 🙂

I had one for sale a while ago. 28mm was too wide for me. It went super quick as soon as I put it on classifieds. it sure was a tiny lovely lens. Good luck! I'll drop you a line if I see one.
