hi guys,

i've avoided d76 up till now because of the hassle of making the stock solution, but i finally gave in to curiousity. the only thing is, the massive dev chart says 13 minutes at 20 deg while ilford recommends 11 minutes.

which is it?

Hi sepiareverb,
What differences do you see the Microphen versus D76. I've been using D76 and occasionally DDX with HP5 for developing the negatives and I haven't seen a big difference between the two. Just curious,
Mike

Ten and a half or eleven minutes in ID-11 1:1 here, that's the same stuff yes?

FWIW, I much prefer Microphen for HP5.

Just came home with an exposed HP5 -a test roll on the new ZM. I think I'll try buyibg some Micrphen in this town tomorrow after work....

the massive dev chart might be useful for film/dev combos where there is no other info, but I haven't figured out why anyone would trust it over the manufacturer.

The ZM lenses seem to be made for Microphen & HP5- my rolls with this combo are quite 'sparkly'. I run HP5 @400 and in Microphen 1:1 at 70° using Ilfords 68° time.
Memory is telling me it's 12 minutes?
