I was recently given a vintage KO Rapid 100 to play with (nice friend :)). I shot a couple of rolls through it, and was disappointed to find that the film advance has the usual image overlap problem:bang:. Is there a simple DIY home remedy for this problem (like some strategic lubing)? Or will the film back need a full overhaul? I found a page on the internet that documents a full overhaul, but I neither have the time, skills, or patience to do that procedure. The KO Rapid 100 is certainly is a fun rig to play with. It has the standard 90mm and also the 60mm with finder.

I guess my other choice would be to search for a properly working 120 film back as a replacement, or wait for one to come up on Ebay. Would anyone know if a reasonably priced source for a 120 film back?

Thanks,

Warren

One of my backs occasionally overlapped the last frame. I just cleaned the clutch with a little naphtha and a screwdriver tip with oil without taking it apart and its working fine. If iI have issues again, I'll tear into it more.

I also try to make sure that I pull the slide all the way out until I get the slight click at the end. It's easy to miss doing this in the moment.

Hi Reid, thanks for the info. That's the page the I found re: back overhauls. I'll try the dab of oil technique to see if it fixes things. I did notice that the slide operation is very stiff right now.
