"For every thing there is a season" (Bible). I recall when I was younger in the Army, then college... One day I woke up and BOOM I'm 40, then over 50. Live everyday to its fullest, blaze your own trail.

On the younger end of the the spectrum (27 recently), but a decent amount of my gear is over. My double stoke M3 and M2 are over. Figured this is a good starting spot to jump into the community here. Been following for a while but this is my first post. Hope to be a good member of this place. Cheers!

welcome child...;)

When I turned 40 I didn't care or even hardly notice. When I turned 50, I hated it and was in a funk for several days. As it turned out my 50s were absolutely fantastic years. When I was 55, I attended 3 motorcycle roadracing schools and found that my youth was still very alive. I felt like I was 18 years old again. I met the woman that was to be my wife and she participated in one of the same motorcycle roadracing schools with me. I have always been around people younger than me and don't even know anyone my age. I don't notice age so much as the aches and pains that goes along with aging. Now 72 and slower but still going strong. Jim

This certainly made me feel good, since I am approaching the golden year(s) myself. When i was in Costa Rica this year the last hotel/Guesthouse I stayed at was run by this guy who turn out to be 53, he introduced me to his 16 year old wife!!!!!!!!! We had a nice conversation with her limited english. Jose (the 53 year owner of the hotel) later told me that his wife mentioned to him that I looked like I was 32-33 years old. I, of course got a very large grin on my face as he as he told me he thought I was around 40 years and I said yes and walked away with a even bigger grin.............. Your only as old as you feel and look and I feel and look 35!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now to start chasing 20 somethings............. chuckle chuckle............... - Keivman

I'm over 50 but I don't think of myself as old. Of course, my knees and my back don't always agree with my mentation.

A number of my cameras are older than I am. My 8x10 Deardorff is a few years my senior. My 8x20 Korona view camera is far older than I am. I expect to still be photographing by the time I reach its age.

I'm 58 (just to get that out of the way).

We'd like to be kids again, and to a certain extent, we all carry parts of our childhoods with us all of our lives.

Next time you get into a crowd, imagine the adults around you as children who grudgingly grew up and took on life's burdens. You can almost see the little kids in them - the remainders of more carefree times.

How about 50 x 1.5? It used to be I couldn't find any bicycle riders my age. Now, it appears the same holds true for photographers. Hmmmm.
